Jonas Alteryd (b. 1976) started making pipes in 2016. Since he was young he has always had a great passion for spending time in the family woodshed creating things. Being educated as a carpenter he finds great joy in the creative process involved in pipe-making. He shows careful attention to the aesthetics of a pipe: the shapes, lines and feel of it. The briar he uses comes from Italy and Greece while the stems are made of high quality German ebonite or even acrylic. Some of his pipes are decorated with ornamental inlays such as brass, silver, horn or different exotic woods. Having a full-time job as a second hand store manager, Jonas is only able to make pipes in his spare time therefore limiting the number of pipes available.
